Description:
X-Gluc (5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-β-D-glucuronic acid) is a substrate for β-glucuronidase, an acid hydrolase encoded by the uid A gene.  in histochemical assays, X-Gluc produces a blue precipitate in the presence of β-glucuronidase. Requires resuspension in DMSO.

Appearance: Crystalline white powder.

Melting Point: Slow colorization > 140 °C. Gave no clear melting point.

Solution: Clear solution when dissolved in DMF (5mg/ml).

Solvent: Chloroform : MeOH : H2O = 65 : 35 : 8

Detection:  UV 254 nm: 10% H2SO4 in EtOH

Transportation: RT or with blue ice

Storage: store at -20°C
